This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how EmpowerMen treats the personal information that it collects. This Policy applies to all information collected through our website and any related services, marketing or events (we refer to them collectively in this Policy as the “Services”). We collect data about you when you interact with our Services, including when you register for an account to make use of any of our web-based Services. If you do not provide Personal Information necessary for registration or when otherwise requested by EmpowerMen, we may not be able to provide you with the full range of our Services, or with information about our Services. This Policy describes the Personal Information that EmpowerMen may have collected from you over the past 12 months.

We may share this information with third parties as described below. If you submit payment to EmpowerMen online, EmpowerMen does not collect any financial or payment card information about you. From time-to-time EmpowerMen may collect publicly available information about you including, but not limited to, your personal identifiers (name, business address, e-mail address), place of employment, educational history, and professional association memberships. EmpowerMen may combine this information with the information EmpowerMen otherwise collects from or about you. EmpowerMen may share this information with third parties as described below.

Compliance with EmpowerMen Rules, Polices and other Requirements. We may use, disclose or share your Personal Information in order to ensure that you are complying with all EmpowerMen’s rules, policies and other requirements for participation in the Services we provide to members.

Mergers and Acquisitions. In the event that EmpowerMen or its assets may be or are acquired by, or merged with, another organization or company including through bankruptcy, we may use, disclose, or share your Personal Information with any of our legal successors.

Keeping Your Information Safe

We have implemented technical, administrative, and physical security controls to protect your personal information against unauthorized access. However, you can help keep your data secure. You are responsible for choosing a secure password when creating your account to access restricted portions of our Website, including the secure Member Section of the Website. You should keep this password confidential and choose a password that you do not use on any other site. You should not share your password with anyone else, including anyone who works for us. Although we will do our best to protect your Personal Information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.

EmpowerMen is only responsible for this Policy and the content of our own website. Our website may contain links to other third-party websites that are not under our control and that we do not sponsor, endorse or maintain. EmpowerMen is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of such websites, and they are not governed by this Policy or any other EmpowerMen policies or terms of use. Your Privacy Rights

If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, some information may be retained in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use or comply with legal requirements.

Notice to Residents of Nevada

We do not presently sell any Personal Information we collect to any third parties. If we were to do so in the future, we will update this Policy, and provide Nevada residents with the opportunity to opt-out of the sale of their Personal Information.

Notice to Residents of California

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please submit your request in writing to us using the contact information provided below. Please be aware, however, that EmpowerMen does not currently disclose your Personal Information to any third parties for marketing purposes. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Civil Code 1798.100, et seq., California residents have additional privacy rights, which you can learn more about by visiting the CCPA Rights section (below).

Personal Information of Minors

This website is not intended for use by minors, and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from minors. We request that minors not provide Personal Information through our website. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected information from someone under the age of 16, we will promptly delete that information.

Do Not Track

Our Site does not collect personal data about your online activities over time and across third-party websites or online services. Therefore, “do not track” signals transmitted from web browsers do not apply to our Site, and we do not alter our data collection and use practices upon receipt of such a signal.

CCPA Rights

Our Privacy Policy (above) provides you with an overview of what Personal Information EmpowerMen collects, uses and shares with third parties, as well as what rights individuals have with respect to their Personal Information collected by EmpowerMen. This page describes the additional rights that California residents have with respect to their Personal Information. This page supplements, but does not replace, EmpowerMen’s Privacy Policy.

(1) Your Rights to Request to Know and to Access Personal Information If you want to know the Personal Information we have collected about you in the last 12 months, you may submit a verifiable consumer request to us and, subject to our verification of that request, we will provide you with the following information:

the categories of Personal Information we have collected about you;
the categories of sources from which the Personal Information is collected;
the business or commercial purpose for collecting, disclosing, or selling, if applicable, the Personal Information;
the categories of third parties with whom we have shared or sold, if applicable, your Personal Information; and
the specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you.

In addition to these disclosures, you may submit a verifiable consumer request up to two (2) times in a twelve (12)-month period for access to your Personal Information. When you submit an access request, you can request that we deliver the information to you by mail or electronically. If you elect to receive the information electronically, to the extent it is technically feasible for us to do so, we will provide the requested information in a portable and readily useable format. To the extent that we collect the information in the first place, we will not disclose any of the following information in response to an access request: your social security number, driver’s license number or other government-issued identification number, financial account number, any health or medical identification number, an account password, or security questions or answers in response to a request to know. In order to submit a verifiable consumer request, please see the “How You Can Submit A Verifiable Consumer Request” section below. Your Right to Request Deletion If you want us to delete the Personal Information we have collected from you, you can send us a verifiable consumer request requesting that we delete some or all of the information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your request, we will delete your Personal Information in our active records, unless an exception applies. We will also notify any service providers and third parties with whom we have shared your Personal Information of your request. In the event that we deny your request to delete based on an exception under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we will inform you, in writing, of the reason. How You Can Submit a Verifiable Consumer Request In order for us to process a request made pursuant to the CCPA, it is necessary for us to verify your identity. We cannot fulfill your request if we cannot verify your identity. We will acknowledge receipt of a consumer request to know, access or delete within ten (10) business days of receipt. However, it may take up to forty-five calendar (45) days to fulfill your request, or up to a total of ninety calendar (90) days if additional time is needed. In the event that we cannot complete your request within the initial forty-five calendar (45) day period, we will notify you in writing within the initial forty-five calendar (45) day period. Only you or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf may submit a personal information request. You may also make a personal information request on behalf of your minor child. All verifiable consumer requests must:

Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information, or an authorized representative.

For a request by the actual person, we will typically require: (1) your full name, (2) your employer, (3) your email address, and (4) your country location. If we require any additional information from you in order to verify your identity, we will contact you. Any additional information you provide for verification purposes will be deleted within a reasonable period of time after responding to your consumer request.
For an authorized representative, we require a copy of the agent’s registration with the California Secretary of State, a valid power of attorney, court appointment document or signed authorization from the individual on whose behalf the agent is acting demonstrating the agent’s ability to act on that person’s behalf. Once we receive a personal information request from an authorized agent, unless that agent has a power of attorney issued pursuant to California Probate Code Sections 4000 to 4465, we may contact the person to whom the request relates in order to, among other things, verify their identity, confirm the agent’s capacity to act on that person’s behalf, and if applicable, respond to or deliver information requested pursuant to the personal information request.
For a request related to a household, all members of the household must submit the request, and each must provide information sufficient for us to verify their identity. Typically, that will include, any email or physical address and phone number that may have been submitted to us and a valid phone number belonging to the individuals making the request. We may deny a request from a household if we cannot verify that the individual(s) making the request are part of the same household.

(2) Your Right to Opt-Out of the Sale of Personal Information EmpowerMen does not sell your Personal Information at this time. If that changes in the future, we will provide you with a method for opting out of the sale of your information and will provide you with an opportunity to do so.

(3) Your Right to Non-Discrimination The CCPA prohibits businesses from discriminating against California consumers for exercising any of their rights under the CCPA. This means that if you exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, we will not deny you goods or services; charge you different prices or rates for goods or services; or provide different levels or quality of goods or services to you.

We ask that you read this Privacy Policy from time to time. We may modify it at any time in our sole discretion. If we make material changes to this Policy that change our rights to use Personal Information that we have previously collected about you, we will notify you or obtain your consent, as required by law.
